Camping Among the Cypress Trees
After a year hiatus from camping due to COVID, my husband was able to reserve one of three coveted camp spots along the coastline, nestled under the cover of cypress trees. We spent Valentine’s day here, just the two of us.
During the daylight hours, we hiked along the coast, taking in the many layers of colors and textures. We dropped down to the beach and back, mesmerized by the crashing waves and riptides. The weather was cloudy and rainy in the evening, but the diffuse lighting brought out the vibrant colors of the local plants.
On the way down to the beaches, we encountered very few people. We took in the fresh air and as our usual habit, took several photos, both my husband and me.
We returned to camp that evening for a nap before dinner. As the heavier rains began, my husband cooked me dinner tent-side. We shared a cup of hot apple cider, listening to the falling rain on our tent. Doesn’t get more romantic than that. Fortunate to continue enjoying these little moments together and looking forward to more this year.
