Dessert After a Busy Week

We had a busy week at work and thought we’d celebrate Friday a little by starting dinner with dessert first. My husband found this place called Sweethoney Dessert one morning (while thinking of sweets) so we went to check it out.

They serve an extensive Hong Kong style dessert menu that made me nostalgic. We had such a hard time choosing from so many options! We ended up with the mango mochi, mango pomelo & grass jelly in mango tapioca soup, and the black sesame & almond soup with sesame balls. We’ll have to come back again to try more!

Since I was little, I always wanted to get the mango pudding at dimsum, but was always too guilty to ask. Now that I’m older, I take every opportunity to have it and whenever I do, it’s feels like a treat.

Here are the fluffy, round mango mochi balls. While the outside is dusted in coconut flakes, the inside holds a sweet mango piece.

We ended the night by buying some tea cookies for tomorrow’s picnic and watching a movie together on the couch. We didn’t end up eating dinner until later, but we had no regrets at all. Hope everyone had a good Friday!
