A Day for Tea

After our walk to the park over the weekend, we dropped by for afternoon tea. We ordered some scones and a pot of chai tea, sitting outside to enjoy the unusually warm summer day in San Francisco.

Since I was little, having tea and sweets in the afternoon have always been a treat. I can still remember when my mother's friend took me to high tea for the first time - the tiers of pastries, tea sandwiches, and my first scone. I remember going to my aunt's after elementary school and how she'd bring out a tray of tea and sweets. Sometimes it was orange marmalade sandwiches, cookies, or something special she'd picked up earlier during the day. My aunts would record movies and cartoons or buy us a new Disney tape to watch with tea. It was just about my favorite time of day and some of my most nostalgic childhood memories.

Now that I'm older, no matter how often I have tea, it still feels like something special. Whether it's going out for afternoon tea or having it at home, I'm glad my husband appreciates it too.

And of course, we love enjoying tea with pinkies up haha.
