Spring in Central Park

My husband and I spent a week in New York, half of it working, and the other half on vacation. We strolled around the neighborhoods on foot and jumped on the subway from time to time. On our first day off, we picked up these pastries from Bibble & Sip and headed to Central Park to view the spring blooms.

This was one of my favorite ponds in the park, mirroring the tree layers and cityscape across a wide expanse. I can almost imagine having model sail boat races here.

Trees were blooming as well, including these bright, fuchsia mounds growing along the surrounding tree trunks.

We also enjoyed the many bridges in the park and the intricate patterns, unique to each one.

We found ourselves in this picturesque tree tunnel and took a break here admiring the new greenery. It was a great spot for people watching and listening to live music spontaneously playing in different pockets along the route.

We hung out here simply relaxing and reliving happy memories. And after a restful afternoon, we strolled from here to the Met for some artistic inspiration from Monet, Van Gogh, and other impressionists. It’s moments and activities like these that I appreciate with my husband. We can find the most fulfilling joys in the little things together, even if it’s sitting together in quiet companionship at the park.
