Fields of Gold
On our second and final day of wildflower viewing, we circled back to a stunning field of flowers we’d passed by the previous day and pinned on our maps. This location was definitely more crowded, with people continuing to flock to the area throughout the time we were here. We were thankful for the narrow trails in between the wildflowers so that we could traverse the area without trampling the lovely blooms. Surprisingly, as we later discovered, the blooms were not at peak here yet, despite the dense carpets of golden flowers, dappled by orange golden poppies and tiny blue flowers. It’s hard to imagine what more would even look like. One thing I’ll never forget was the welcome floral scents that permeated the entire area. Absolutely beautiful.
