Making Time & Simply Having Fun
We often get swept away by all the things we have to do in life. There are errands to run, chores to complete, home improvements to be made, and the list goes on. We tend to forget to do things for fun, simply for fun. And before we know it, three months of the year have gone by. So we sat down this past weekend and started making a list of fun things to do outside our hermitage at home.
I looked back at old posts for inspiration, thinking, what did we used to do before COVID? These days, I find myself content spending time with my husband and dog wherever we are, gardening, working on the home together, and having friends over. We just finished redoing the driveway, drainage, and just installed a mini split into our home pottery studio so that it’s not too cold during the winter.
I’m excited to plan a few trips this year, perhaps to New York and another one to New Zealand. We made plans to take my mother-in-law to the gardens in a few weeks. We decided to take my father-in-law out to brunch at a restaurant we haven’t tried, instead of meeting in each other’s homes. More immediately, we decided to take Yoshi on a little hike with us to the dog beach, where he made some new friends and roamed around leash-free. Taking it a little step at a time, day by day.
