Life Lately
Life has had its unexpected twists and turns lately. I’ve been focused on the health of loved ones as new findings come to light and finding ways to help where I can. I’m looking forward to the fall festivities, apple picking, pie making, cider, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin carving, cozying by the fireplace - can you tell I’m excited? I’m also looking forward to celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and going on a little trip with my husband and Yoshi. It’s honestly been a while since I’ve taken a week long vacation and probably could use a refresher.
Cozy additions to the home
I’ve been adding rugs to every room slowly, but finally splurged during the sales to get one for the master and guest bedrooms.
Pottery lately
We’ve continued making pots at home and slowly considering getting a kiln. We got our first batch of pottery back from firing a few weeks ago now and are already using a few pieces daily.
Catching up with friends & family
Compared to the last two years, we’ve been spending a lot more time in-person with friends and family. I’m thinking about having a Friendsgiving this year if timing and availability work out.
New cookbooks & favorite recipes to try
I’ve recently ordered Burma Superstar’s cookbook to make their beef/lamb curry at home (as well as a vegetarian version for my husband).
Teas & Coffee
Lately, I’ve been drinking Harley & Sons’ Bourbon Cask Black Tea in the evenings to unwind and continuing to make chai using Zombie Runner’s chai spice mix (been my go to for over 10 years now).
