Weekend Getaway at the Ranch

We spent a weekend getaway with our friends at their ranch, unwinding with games, cooking, and good conversations. We took an adventurous detour via back roads to get there, but enjoyed the streams of light filtering through the trees and watched Yoshi nap in the backseat without a care in the world.

He ran free around the ranch and at times, we lost sight of him completely. I think it was the first time we left him off leash in such a large space. Eventually he did come back, but over long stretches of time. He’s definitely our little wanderer.

While Yoshi did his exploring, we picked fruit from the orchard together and made freshly squeezed orange juice for the morning. Our friends had a wonderful variety of citrus, which made it hard to choose so we ended up making a blend.

We wandered through their vineyard, lined with wild mustard flowers. We asked the guys to help us carry some back for a floral arrangement, but I think they outdid themselves.

Looking forward to more hangouts together with these three. We headed home at the end of the weekend and got ready for another week of work, feeling rather refreshed.
