Spring Evening Among the Mountain Wildflowers
After work one day, my husband and I decided to order some takeout and head up to the mountain for dinner. It was something different and more whimsical than the typical weekday evening. The weather was warm and lovely. The sun was still up for a few more hours. So we packed up our supplies, grabbed a cozy sweater and hat in case it got windy, and started driving.
As we pulled up to the rolling hills of green, dipped in gold by the sunlight, we found ourselves alone among the wildflowers and the softly blowing breeze.
We frolicked in the fields and listened to the tall grass gently rustling. We stayed out here for golden hour and watched the sun set on another day, the pastel colors afire in the open sky.
When it got chilly enough, we bundled back into our car and ate takeout until the last rays of sunlight disappeared beyond the horizon. And we headed home, feeling a little more at peace with the world.
