Finds from Busy Days & Slow Weekends

While the days have been busy, the weekends have been good for the soul, unwinding with a bit of slow living and recharging with the new year.

I’ve been exercising regularly, filling my weeks with long walks through the city, hiking, running, cycling, and early morning hot yoga sessions. My evenings have been spent working on my latest embroidery while sipping new teas. My meals have been filled with fresh produce from the farmer’s markets and exploring new recipes with new recipe books. I’ve been indulging on my feminine side with a bit of spring nail polish hues to brighten the winter days, updating my bucket lists, trip planning, reading, and catching up with friends over pastries and tea.

so here are a few finds along the way…

  • One of my favorites, Yumiko Higuchi just released her newest embroidery book called A Year of Embroidery, available on Amazon.

  • One of my favorite chefs, Ottolenghi has a new book called Ottolenghi Simple for those of you who are interested in tasty, but simpler recipes compared to his other cookbooks. A friend of mine also just gifted me Joanna Gaines’ cookbook, Magnolia Table.

  • I’m trying out some new pastel nail colors in Opi Lavendurable, Opi Lisbon Wants Moor, and Opi To Be Continued. To get a gel nail-like appearance, apply this clear top coat to your nail polish for a glossy, even finish.

  • New teas I’m trying: Kusmi Tea’s Bouquet of Flowers

  • Music I’ve recently discovered: Billie Eilish’s Come Out and Play

  • I’ve been taking long walks and enjoying my new Bose Frames. I have the Rondo for my smaller face frame, but for those with larger faces, try the Alto. The best part is, no one around you can tell you’re listening to music from your sunglasses! Audio is amazing. It’s great for biking as well when you want Google directions. It simply connects to your phone via bluetooth.

  • Trip planning tools I’ve discovered: Travefy - have anyone of you tried it? So far I’m liking the ability to also map out locations and share with friends who can edit as well.

  • I’ve been catching up with friends and when it comes time to pay the bill, I’ve found the Tab App really convenient for splitting the bill. You can take a screenshot of the bill and split by orders, then tip and tax.
