Slow Mornings & Recovery
For the last few weeks, we’ve been enjoying slow mornings and easing into the day as we recover from some recent injuries. Midsummer has brought in a season of sweet peaches, blueberries, and the beginning of our favorite squash blossoms (which we fell in love with during our culinary travels in the south of France).
We just finished a breakfast with toasted pine nuts, homemade pesto over a sunny side up egg, fresh sautéed porcini mushrooms topped with thyme and a side of crispy patties.
We’ve been experimenting with fresh porcini mushrooms and learning to bake Gougères for the first time. Another post to follow soon, along with our modified recipe and spontaneous evening with friends. Until then, it’s time to get up and enjoy the sunshine under the clear summer skies.
