An Afternoon at Castello di Amoroso Winery
My husband and I dropped by Castello di Amoroso after my cousin-in-law introduced us to a bottle of their 2018 La Fantasia Rosé Wine. It’s a sweet wine that’s light enough that a lightweight like me - can drink an entire glass and not feel its effects. So we came for a short visit and picked up a few bottles on our way home from the in-laws.
The winery itself centers around a beautiful rendition of a Tuscan castle. It’s surrounded by rolling hills of grapevines and was particularly beautiful close to golden hour. They also offer paid tours to explore the castle interior and food/wine pairings, but we opted to come back another day. When we arrived close to 4pm on a Sunday afternoon, the winery was incredibly popular and flowing with visitors inside and out. We’ll return here someday to capture photos of the castle.
We escaped the crowds further into the grapevine and away from direct sunlight. If you ducked down a little, you’d see the grapevine full of grapes ready for harvesting. Compared to the vines closer to the castle, these grapes were plump and velvety, navy blue.
