The Dushanbe Tea House was gifted by Tajikistan and crafted by more than forty artisans between 1987-1990. This includes the hand-carved and painted ceiling, tables, and beautiful panels. It was a great place to relax and unwind after our morning hike. 

We made reservations for afternoon tea a few weeks in advance of our trip. They do take walk-ins, but if you want the full multi-tiered experience, reserve in advance! The cost was a reasonable $22/person with unlimited tea, meaning you get unlimited tea for however many teas you decide to try.

They offered an assortment of teas. We tried their famous Chai, Lady Grey's Garden, Rocky Mountain Mint, and their Moroccan Mint.

My favorite was the chai and would highly recommend. You can also buy some of their pre-made chai online. The Moroccan Mint was good as well, but it's hard to compare to the one I had multiple times in Abu Dhabi several years back.

The pastries are prefixed for you. We started with a crispy, filo puff pastry tart. 

Our friend Ali was clearly excited by the tiers of pastries. The chicken tartlets and hot, artichoke pockets were really good! The scones were quite tasty as well. 

I'm usually a fan of Lady Grey blends. This one was light, but pleasantly fragrant. Reminds me a little of Murchie's MS Grey, which I also enjoyed during our visit to Victoria & Vancouver.

And of course the strawberry jam, lemon curd, and clotted cream! This always completes tea for me. I love spreading the lemon curd on my cookies as well. 

We finished the afternoon casually with several empty pots of tea. The sun was starting the set by the time we were ready to head out. For those interested in some of their teas, you can actually purchase the teas near the back of the tea house.

Overall, a fun experience I'd highly recommend! Until our next tea adventure!
