Bonfire on the Beach: Enjoying the Last of the Warm Weather
It’s been a busy month and I’m finally catching up on some posts, including our beach bonfire with friends. We enjoyed the last of the warm weather, commonly referred to as the “Indian Summer” of the Bay Area and were rewarded with one of the most amazing sunsets we’d all seen in a long time.
We walked along the gold-dipped sand, under a pastel sky that continued to turn more golden as the sun reached closer towards the horizon. I loved how the sky was reflected on the wet sand as the waves receded back into the ocean.
I’ve always thought the sea waves looked like milk around this time of day.
We alternated between the water and our picnic spot, protected by the surrounding cliffs behind us. We brought snacks, chai, and blankets to bundle into as the temperatures began to drop.
And gathered around the bonfire, catching up after the busy weeks and months for some.
Thanks to Warner for taking this photo. Not a bad way to enjoy the last of the warm weather with friends and a breathtaking view. When the sun had finally set, we did a little light painting, some with the stars in the background.
As fall comes to an end, winter is coming and along with it, the rains, but also the warmth of the holidays.
